Collar to cuff

My latest project at college was 'collar to cuff' it involved a lot of designing, making and marketing. I am going to upload some images of work throughout the project.

DESIGNING

Here are some images of my designs, final design boards for my shirt and customer profile board. My theme was archeticture and interior decor so I used strong shapes and structures throughout the designs relating back to images and research from my theme. My illustrator was Mr Cedric Rivrain his illustrations really linked well with my theme and designs. All of the shirts are pure white cotton and I wanted to add some brightness and boldness to my boards so I used magazines to collage the skirts and trousers which I think really work well together as a contrast.

PROMOTIONAL
When buying a shirt from the collection the customer received a free promotional bag. I designed the bag from a building which I came across in my research on archeticture. I used the strong structures shapes and created high pointed batik dyed triangles. I used batik to create a crackling effect which a Givenchy bag inspired me to achieve. I was firstly making a canvas bag but I decided later on in the process to make a clutch.

THE MAKING
My final design board shows the shirt that I picked to make and the spefication drawings. The shirt itself was mainly inspired by strong structual buildings and the panels represented stairs. Overall I wanted the shirt just to be white cotton and I think I went with the right choice. The shirt is branded upper high street such as shops like All saints, Karen Millen and Reiss.
